Walsave Credit Union Wins Business of the Year at 2025 Express & Star Business Awards

Walsave Credit Union has been announced as Business of the Year at the prestigious 2025 Express & Star Business Awards. The recognition celebrates the credit union’s vital role in supporting financial wellbeing across Walsall through accessible, ethical, and member-focused services.

Walsave has long championed financial inclusion by offering affordable savings and loan products to those who live or work in the borough.

Award judges praised Walsave as “truly inspiring”, commending both the impact and personal approach of the organisation. “They provide a genuine financial lifeline to many and have a very personal relationship with customers,” the panel said, also highlighting the importance of maintaining a welcoming counter service at its Bloxwich office. Judges added: “Walsave Credit Union should not be Walsall’s best-kept secret.”

The award also recognised Walsave’s strong financial stewardship, noting the organisation had delivered a healthy surplus and paid a 3% dividend to savers in the 2023–24 financial year.
