Eleven marketers from eight Northwest credit unions recently held their first in-person learning session at Barclays Bank’s Market Street branch in Manchester.

Organised with support from the ABCUL Northwest Forum, the group aims to bring credit union marketing professionals together to share knowledge, discuss challenges and identify learning opportunities.

Ryan Quinn, group co-ordinator from South Manchester Credit Union explained “After a marketing session at the Northwest Forum’s WOW summer conference in Blackpool, collectively the attendees thought it would be beneficial to meet regularly with other marketers to learn from each other.”

The Northwest marketing group plan more in-person meets and encourage marketers, Board members or volunteers who support credit union marketing activities to get involved. David Harris, group co-ordinator from Pennine Community Credit Union said “We organised a virtual meeting to identify topics that the group believed would find beneficial to have more training in. Going forward the aim is to invite marketing experts to present on these marketing techniques and any others that arise, whilst at the same time asking members of the group to share their experience on campaigns or strategies that they operate, which will be opened up to the group to discuss”.
