The All Together Money Annual Conference 2026 is underway in Leeds, with credit unions from across the country coming together for a packed programme of insight, discussion and networking.

The first day has brought together voices from across government, the co-operative movement, financial services and the credit union sector to explore some of the key issues shaping the future of the movement.

Hearing from government and the sector

The conference opened with a video contribution from Economic Secretary to the Treasury Lucy Rigby MP, followed by a panel discussion featuring Rose Marley, Chief Executive of Co-operatives UK; Glenn Bemment, Group Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking at Coventry Building Society; and Matt Bland, Chief Executive of All Together Money.

The discussion provided perspectives from across government, the co-operative movement and financial services, while exploring the role credit unions can play in the future financial services landscape.

A focus on regulation and the future

Regulation has also been a key theme throughout the day, with delegates hearing from the PRA and FCA on the regulatory developments and changes affecting credit unions.

The programme has also provided opportunities for delegates to explore a range of practical issues, including building strong data foundations, rebranding and relaunching a credit union, supporting vulnerable members and creating more inclusive and accessible financial services.

The afternoon programme has continued with discussions around the future of the movement, including the findings of the Swoboda Research Centre, which explore credit union views on growth, scale, collaboration and the road to 2035.

Celebrating the credit union movement

This evening, delegates will come together for the All Together Money Annual Awards Ceremony, providing an opportunity to recognise the achievements, innovation and dedication of credit unions and the people who power the movement.

All Together Money would like to thank The Co-operative Bank for sponsoring this year’s Annual Awards Ceremony and for its continued support of the conference.

The evening will provide a chance for delegates to celebrate the successes of the sector and recognise those making a difference across credit unions and the communities they serve.

Looking ahead to Saturday

The conference continues tomorrow with another packed programme covering some of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing credit unions.

Saturday’s programme will open with sessions covering regulatory developments for larger credit unions, good governance, lending growth and underwriting, and technology, alongside the dedicated Young Professionals Network event.

The day will then explore the future direction of the movement, with Swoboda Research Centre sharing further insight into growth, scale and the road to 2035, alongside sessions focused on the Warm Homes Plan, the Credit Union Transformation Fund and the potential of Credit Union Service Organisations to support collaboration, innovation and shared services.

The afternoon will bring further discussion on governance and board development, regulatory priorities from the PRA and FCA, and the future of AI in the sector, with Matt Howarth of Reason Digital exploring the latest opportunities and the practical, ethical and organisational challenges that come with them.

The conference will then conclude with the CU Futures Graduation, celebrating the achievements of the Year 10 graduates and the next generation of credit union leaders.

With another full day of insight, discussion and networking ahead, delegates can look forward to continuing the conversations and exploring what the future holds for the credit union movement.
