It is with great sadness and real sense of loss that Commsave Credit Union learned of the passing of Derek Jackson.
Derek’s contribution to the establishment and growth of Commsave was immense. He was a member of the steering committee that founded Northamptonshire Postal Workers Credit Union in 1991 and supported its development into a national credit union. Following Derek’s retirement from Royal Mail he re-joined the Board and also served on their Audit & Risk committee.
A statement on Commsave’s website said : “Derek’s total commitment shone through and he attended his final Board meeting in July despite his ill health. Derek was renowned for his common sense and good humour. He had total focus on improving the lives of our members and delivering our mission of People Helping People. He also supported the development of our staff team offering support and guidance.
“The Board will consider a lasting memorial to Derek by recognising the unique contribution he has made over many, many years to our credit union. Derek will be deeply missed by all directors and staff at Commsave. We send our deepest condolences to Derek’s wife and family.”
