Bedford Credit Union (BCU), has announced that they are now a part of the national PrizeSaver scheme, open to credit unions across GB.
The Bedfordshire based credit union can allow members to transfer up to £200 into a PrizeSaver Account when they have savings in a standard account.
Every £1 saved in a PrizeSaver Account will be automatically entered into a national monthly draw to win one prize of £5000, 10 prizes of £50 or 10 prizes of £20. Meaning that the more you save, the more chances you have to win.
Ian McEwen, Bedford Credit Union Chair said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer our savers the chance to win prizes, simply by having savings with us in a PrizeSaver Account.
“Our members love knowing that while their savings are safe with us, they are also supporting people within their community with loans and banking services.”
The BCU is also supported by Bedford and Luton Community Foundation Trust Fund, Bedford Borough Council, The House of Industry Estate, Central Bedfordshire Council and the Harpur Trust.
Monthly prize draws take place between the 15th and 20th of each month. Winners are notified within two working days and over £150,000 has been paid out to account holders so far.
Prize winner Eve, who recently won £5000, said: “I was drawn to the scheme due to its community focus. Especially for young people like me who maybe haven’t got into a routine of saving regularly.
“The PrizeSaver account is a great incentive because you have the excitement each month in seeing if you have been lucky.”
In addition to the national draw, in the run-up to UK Savings Week (9th-15th September), Bedford Credit Union is holding an additional draw on 15 October 2024 – exclusively for BCU account holders.
