More than 25 young professionals from credit unions and sector partners across Great Britain gathered in Liverpool on Friday for the All Together Money Young Professionals Network (YPN) Summer Event.
Hosted by marketing and communications specialists MP&Co, the interactive session provided attendees with practical tools and insights to strengthen their marketing, digital engagement and communication skills. The programme focused on real-world challenges facing credit unions, covering topics including audience messaging, strategy development, search engine optimisation (SEO), campaign planning and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support marketing activity.
Designed to be highly practical and collaborative, the event encouraged participants to share experiences, explore common challenges and build connections with peers from across the movement.
Emily Alexander, Chair of the Young Professionals Network and a representative of the Penny Post Group, said: “The Young Professionals Network exists to support, develop and connect the next generation of leaders within our movement, and this event was a fantastic example of that in action. It was encouraging to see so many young professionals from across Great Britain come together to learn, share ideas and build relationships with colleagues facing similar opportunities and challenges.
“The sessions delivered by MP&Co provided practical skills that members of our Network can take back into their credit unions immediately, while also creating space for valuable discussions about the future of our sector. The enthusiasm, engagement and willingness to learn from one another throughout the day demonstrated the strength of talent that exists within our movement.”
CEO at MP&Co, Mike Pye said: “It was a pleasure to spend time with the YPN network on Friday and get stuck into AI and SEO in a way that felt real for credit union marketing. The conversations in the room and the willingness to talk openly about real challenges made it a very worthwhile and enjoyable day.
“We wanted to give the YPN network frameworks they can take back into their roles and build on straight away, helping everyday marketing activity feel more focused and more confident.
“We love working with credit unions. There’s a strong sense of purpose in the sector and a clear commitment to community, which makes the work so important. When that purpose is backed by clear strategy and the right tools, there’s nothing stopping you from turning good intentions into consistent growth.”
The event forms part of the Young Professionals Network’s ongoing programme of activities aimed at supporting career development, encouraging collaboration and helping to build a strong pipeline of future leaders for the credit union movement.
