All Together Money is proud to support Co-op Fortnight 2026, the annual celebration of co-operatives and member-owned businesses across the UK.

This year’s theme, “Co-operate and We Can Change the World”, highlights the positive impact that can be achieved when people come together to support one another, strengthen communities and create opportunities for future generations.

Across the UK, co-operatives are making a difference every day. From food and energy to housing, finance and community services, co-operatives continue to demonstrate the power of people working together to achieve shared goals and deliver lasting value for their members and communities.

The theme is brought to life through This Beautiful Idea, a powerful campaign film and poem written and performed by acclaimed poet Tony Walsh. The film celebrates the purpose, power and possibility of the co-operative movement, showing how people can create positive change when they work together.

For credit unions, Co-op Fortnight is an opportunity to celebrate the unique contribution they make to the lives of millions of people across Great Britain. As member-owned financial co-operatives, credit unions help people build savings, access affordable loans and improve their financial wellbeing. Every pound saved and every loan provided supports individuals, families and local communities.

At a time when many households continue to face financial pressures, credit unions are demonstrating the power of the co-operative model in action by providing trusted, responsible financial services that put people first.

Co-op Fortnight also comes at an exciting time for the wider co-operative and mutual sector. The Government has reaffirmed its ambition to double the size of the UK’s co-operative and mutual economy, recognising the role organisations such as credit unions play in driving economic growth, resilience and community prosperity. Recent developments, including the work of the Co-operative and Mutual Economy Council and the announcement of a new Co-operatives and Mutuals Champion, demonstrate growing recognition of the sector’s importance.

Matt Bland, Chief Executive of All Together Money, said: “Co-op Fortnight is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the positive impact credit unions and other co-operatives have on people’s lives every day. Credit unions embody the co-operative values of self-help, democracy and community, providing financial services that are designed around the needs of members rather than shareholders.

“This year’s theme, ‘Co-operate and We Can Change the World’, perfectly captures what credit unions achieve every day. By helping people save, borrow responsibly and improve their financial wellbeing, credit unions create positive change for individuals, families and communities.”

As momentum continues to grow behind the co-operative and mutual sector, it is important that the value credit unions bring to communities across Great Britain continues to be recognised and celebrated. Co-op Fortnight provides an excellent opportunity to showcase that impact.

As both a member of Co-operatives UK and the representative body for credit unions on the government-sponsored Mutuals & Co-operatives Sector Business Council, All Together Money leads efforts to promote the contribution of credit unions within the wider co-operative movement and helping to shape the future growth of the UK’s co-operative and mutual economy.

Matt added: “These partnerships provide an important opportunity to highlight the contribution credit unions make to communities while helping to shape a stronger future for the wider co-operative and mutual sector.”
